A government so unconscious
Wars to help other countries without a care about ourselves
Soldiers with families such as babies and wives
Blowing up little kids who as suicide bombers risk their lives

Babies lying in dumpsters alive and alone
Numbers of homeless multiplying by the day
Kids scared of the future they will have to bare
Pain across a mother’s eyes when she found her child has just now died

Drugs and alcohol running the streets as gangs of their own
President sweeping problems below the rug under his feet
Getting married for money but love is nowhere in sight
A gun under a pillow because safety is unguaranteed

Jobs cut down due to a lack of pay
But when we will we get to see the light at the end of the blocked tunnel
Careers no longer for personal want but a struggle to keep
Economic depression got everyone on their knees begging

Murders and rapes a daily routine for the community
Flyers of missing children plastered on the walls
Good citizenship is a rare item to find upon this world
The news no longer informal but a link to depression


Nowhere to hide from the falling of this place
Trying to stay on top of this vicious game
War amongst ourselves has finally come about
This will end in pain without a doubt

Where can we turn when all is wrong?
Who will be brave enough to stand strong?
Should we fight or should we hide?
No longer a battle of good versus evil

Teenage pregnancy becoming a common site
Abortions made a choice in order to avoid the child from living in this harsh world
Tears roll down people’s cheeks when the realize what things have come to
No longer a blessing to have a child but yet another economic worry

Said to be the place of the “American dream”
A nightmare is all I can see here in front of my own two eyes
No longer the greatest power but a major failure
Tragedy becoming the genre of our personal story
  
Clear skies no longer a sign of a great day
Kids playing the park no longer a sight of happiness but of worry
Cars taking everyone in their path without a care in the world
Signs just another oblivion to most

Celebrities getting fed with the silver spoon by Justice
Illegal items used amongst them without a worry to spare
“Reality” shows putting false hopes in the minds of its viewers
Nothing real about the celebrity life
Helping countries for our own personal greed
Children in Uganda fighting since the time of learning to walk
Rappers stating they are all for the fight for minorities
But everyone is just in it for the money and fame

Blaming global warming on natural causes
Decaying our planet from the inside out but not giving it a chance
Trying to make a difference canceled out by a uneducated personal
Go green but doesn’t matter if the people on it can’t keep it clean

Living like this is a hazard to the health of all
